Responsibilities
- Prepare daily food items and complete assigned duties to meet company quality standards
- Ensure compliance with all legally required hygiene and safety practices and maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and related areas
- Coordinate daily tasks effectively with team members to support smooth kitchen operations
- Assist in supervising line cooks or commis chefs as needed to maintain workflow and quality
- Estimate daily production needs and inspect raw and cooked food products to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain high quality in food production, preparation, and presentation at all times
- Monitor guest satisfaction, food quality, operational efficiency, and food costs continuously
- Apply knowledge of standard procedures and policies for food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation
- Maintain full awareness of menu items, including recipes, production methods, and presentation standards
- Follow proper food preservation standards to handle all food products at correct temperatures
- Check expiry dates and ensure proper storage of food items within the assigned section
