Care By Us (Part of the CCH Group) is looking for full-time and part-time Respite Support Workers to join a friendly, dedicated team across Hertfordshire.

Work locations include West & Central Herts: Watford, Three Rivers, Hemel Hempstead (HP1, HP2, HP3), Tring, Potten End, Bovingdon, Kings Langley, Pepperstock, Markyate, St Albans (AL3), and Welwyn Garden City (AL7); and East Herts: Ware & Stanstead Abbotts (SG12), Cheshunt & Goffs Oak (EN7).

Shifts are flexible and Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM – perfect for fitting around a school run or personal lifestyle.

Job Description

In this vital role, you will provide temporary relief to primary caregivers, ensuring that the service user’s normal routine continues as it would with their own family. Your responsibilities include offering companionship, personal care, household support, community inclusion, and medication assistance.

  • Family-Style Support – seamlessly integrate into the daily life and routine to provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Personal Care – assist with washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding with dignity.
  • Household Support – cook, prepare meals, do laundry, and perform light housework.
  • Community Inclusion – encourage participation in hobbies and assist with community activities.
  • Medication – administer or assist as directed by care plans.

Qualifications

You do not need formal care experience; we provide training. We look for the following:

  • A genuine desire to help others with patience, empathy, and compassion.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (Essential).
  • The right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
