Job Summary
Moog Aircraft Group is looking for an apprentice trained, experienced Manual / CNC Grinder to join the team at our facility based in Wolverhampton. Our Machinists work to exceptionally close tolerances, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Experience operating and setting Manual Studer machines S20/RM250 and operating/setting CNC Studer S33/S31
- Capability of machining exotic and hardened materials
- Carry out own 1st off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentation
- Precision manual land grinding, working to achieve limits to 0.00005″
- Able to set and run multiple machine/processes
- Work a shift pattern, including nights and overtime when requested
Key Skills and Experience
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship
- Previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing role within the aerospace industry
- Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling
- Attention to detail and accuracy and process improvement
- Using the relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerance
Other Requirements
- The role requires the candidate to be self-certified and a quality stamp holder after qualifying period.
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained. Candidates who cannot obtain clearance may not be eligible.
