Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide emotional, social, and practical support to students, ensuring their well‑being, safety, and positive behaviour. You will act as a vital link between students, parents, teachers and external agencies to help children overcome barriers to learning, improve attendance and achieve their potential.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience of successfully working with young people on behaviour and welfare in secondary settings and demonstrated understanding of school safeguarding regulations and policies, mental health and student wellbeing. You will have an ability to engage young people clearly, warmly and consistently.

Founded in 1646, Reading Blue Coat is a leading independent day school of circa 800 pupils from ages 11 to 18. The School is located on a beautiful 46-acre campus in the village of Sonning, just outside Reading. Working conditions & benefits

This is a full-time, term‑time role working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 16:30 with a 30‑minute break for lunch. Five additional days are required to be worked during the School holidays with exact days to be mutually agreed.
