Job Description:

Senior Discipline Engineer is a seasoned engineering professional who has a wealth of experience in a specific engineering discipline. They will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven record of accomplishment of delivering high‑quality engineering projects. They will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

  • Scope: Senior discipline role within engineering department. Provides deep technical knowledge, mentors junior engineers and helps lead engineering team.

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
  • Support the Principal Discipline Engineer(s) and Engineering Manager with the provision of discipline subject matter expertise across the business.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to solve engineering problems and improve processes.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments and disciplines to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Support the Project Engineer / Manager with the identification and scoping of project deliverables, and providing accurate estimates.
  • Lead technical quality assurance of manufacturing vendors and manufactured products (FAT, MRB reviews, etc.)
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
  • Contribute or lead the development or maintenance of internal technical standards.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Support Business Development and Proposals with client engagement.
  • Deliver on‑the‑job training and sharing knowledge with junior members of the team.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.

  • Project Management
  • Support Project Engineers / Managers with scope and deliverable specification.
  • Produce or approve time estimates for deliverables.
  • Ensure discipline deliverables for projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of project activities and outcomes.
  • Review and approve discipline specific work instructions and method statements.
  • Take part in closeout and lesson learned reviews, enact any discipline improvements.
  • HSEQ
  • Attend and contribute to health and safety training and briefs.
  • Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety.

Skills

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, or related field); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Hold CEng/IEng status through the Engineering Council, or actively working towards.
  • Experience in engineering, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.

Desirable Qualifications And Experience

  • Offshore Medical.
  • BOSIET with CA-EBS.
  • MIST.

  • Strong technical expertise in relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Sound knowledge of discipline codes, standards, best practices, and regulations.
