Security Research Engineer – National Security Business

We are looking for a talented and inquisitive Security Research Engineer to join our team in Romsey. You will work at the cutting edge of cyber security, researching, developing, and prototyping innovative solutions to protect systems against sophisticated threats. Conduct in-depth research into emerging cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques Design and develop novel security solutions, tools, and prototypes Perform vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, and security assessments across a range of platforms Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to transition research into real-world capabilities Stay ahead of the latest developments in cyber security, sharing insights with the wider team

Strong background in cyber security, computer science, or a related discipline Malware analysis Secure software development Proficiency in programming (e.g., C/C++, Python, or similar) Understanding of operating systems, networks, and system architecture Experience with embedded systems, mobile platforms, or cloud security Familiarity with vulnerability research tools and frameworks Previous experience in a research or innovation environment
