Tutor – 2 Months Contract with Local Authority

Summary

  • The Tutor will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality adult learning programmes, both accredited and non-accredited. This role is crucial in supporting learners to achieve their personal goals and progress into further education or employment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality learning programmes for adult learners.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse individual and community needs.
  • Integrate English, maths, ICT, safeguarding, Prevent, British values, and wellbeing into learning.
  • Motivate and support learners to achieve their full potential.
  • Experience in delivering teaching, learning, and assessment in an adult education setting.
  • Experience working with diverse learners, including those from underrepresented groups.
  • Experience supporting learners with administrative processes (e.g., enrolment, eligibility).
  • Experience working with external partners or community-based organisations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (PTTLS) or equivalent.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (DTLLS or equivalent) – desirable.
  • Degree in a relevant subject area – desirable.
  • English and Maths Level 2 (or equivalent).

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 12 hours per week
  • Location: The Curve, William Street, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 1XY, United Kingdom
  • Requirements: Enhanced DBS required
  • Interview Location: The Curve, Wellington Street, Slough. Public transport is nearby, and parking is available opposite or at Herschel Car Park. Report to the “Learning Advice Point” on the ground floor.
  • Contract Details: The post holder will work on a sessional basis, delivering at least one course per educational term. This is a short-term contract until the end of the academic year, subject to renewal.
