What is in it for you

£17.33 per hour plus 1/3 shift allowance for night shift equates to £23.10 per hour.

Overtime: time ½, time ½ and double time depending on when worked.

Temp to perm role.

Working hour week is 42 hours.

Monday to Thursday – 8pm to 7am (4 x 10.5 hour shifts with 2 x 20 minute breaks).

Newton Aycliffe location.

Once perm, you gain 24 days’ holiday plus statutory.

The Business

Our client is a structural steel and fabricated parts supplier based in Newton Aycliffe.

The Role

• Working as a structural plater on a permanent night shift.
• Working with complex structural engineering drawings.
• Positioning plate, boxing up and levelling off.
• Using oxyacetylene burning equipment to manipulate steel plate.
• Adding plate sections to columns and beams.
• Marking up beams with weld sizes.
• Applying fitting.
• Identifying requirements for welding.
• Ensuring quality compliance.
• Tacking up welds.

The Person

• Time served Plater with structural knowledge.
• Knowledgeable with a range of plating techniques.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Flexible attitude.
• Quality focused.
• Ability to also MIG weld to a high standard would be preferred.
