SEND Teaching Assistant – Daily supply, starting as soon as possible
These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll be working on a daily supply basis in Chatteris and the surrounding areas, supporting pupils with special educational needs across a range of primary and secondary schools.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant
- Support pupils with a range of SEND including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
- Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in the classroom
- Assist with personal care and mobility where required
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and assessments
- Adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil needs
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in school or care settings
- Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting diverse needs
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (desirable)
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour and communication
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Your salary — dependent on experience — is paid weekly through PAYE.
