A Snapshot of Your Day
HVDC technology is a core enabler of the global energy transition, usingadvanced converters to efficiently transmit power from offshore wind parks toonshore grids. We are seeking motivated individuals who want to work withcutting‑edge HVDC systems and make areal impact in building a sustainable electrical future.
As a Controls Engineer, you will contribute to developingthe control system from the earliest design stages through final validation.Your responsibilities include defining control system specifications, parameterizing interfaces with other systems, and implementing control logic inMATLAB/SIMULINK based on project and customer requirements.
You will also support loading compiled control softwareonto target hardware and conduct hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing to verify systemperformance. The role focuses on higher‑levelHVDC controls, with knowledge of converter‑levelcontrols considered an advantage. You will work closely with amultidisciplinary team including specialists in HMI, switchyard control, andreal‑time simulation and engagedirectly with customers as we help shape the next generation of the electricalgrid
How You’ll Make an Impact
- loop control systems for HVDCconverter systems
- loop (HIL) test environments
- Contributeto clarifying technical requirements within project teams and in collaborationwith customers
- Work closely with a dedicated team to ensuresuccessful project development
What You Bring
- Universitydegree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field, with preferably two or more years of professional experience
- StrongMATLAB/SIMULINK skills, including modelling and verification
- Experiencein developing control systems, ideally within a power systems environment
- Motivationto collaborate in a team, learn continuously, and contribute to the energytransition
- loop control principles
- Familiarity with automation systemconfiguration and strong English skills; German skills are an advantage
