Position Overview

You will handle a varied caseload of contentious probate and litigation matters, advising clients and managing cases from instruction through to resolution while meeting agreed financial and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 for both Claimants and Defendants
  • Handling probate disputes involving allegations of forgery, testamentary capacity and undue influence
  • Advising on disputes concerning the validity and construction of trust documents
  • Managing cases involving allegations of fraud
  • Acting for Executors in a neutral capacity
  • Handling proprietary estoppel and constructive trust claims
  • Drafting settlement agreements
  • Managing files from instruction through to conclusion with minimal supervision
  • Accurate time recording and billing
  • Participating in business development and client relationship building

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales
  • Current practising certificate with no restrictions
  • Minimum 3 years’ PQE in contentious probate or litigation matters
  • Strong knowledge of probate litigation and dispute resolution
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
  • Strong organisational, drafting and communication skills
  • Experience working with case management systems
