Manufacturing Engineer

First Achieve Engineering Department is working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected engineering business with a long-standing reputation for delivering precision-engineered solutions to critical industries worldwide.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled engineer to play a key role in driving manufacturing efficiency, continuous improvement, and machining excellence within a fast-paced production environment.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure components are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with operational teams, machine shop personnel, and suppliers, you will support CNC machining operations through process development, CNC programming, tooling improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role will involve both hands-on technical support and strategic process improvement activities across CNC and manual machining operations.

Create and modify CNC programs using Siemens, Mazak, and Heidenhain programming languagesPrepare and update manufacturing methods, tooling details, setup instructions, and process documentationDevelop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods using Lean Manufacturing principlesSupport daily manufacturing activities, resolving machining and process issues where requiredProvide ongoing support to machine shop operations to ensure efficient and high-quality productionManage manufacturing consumables including tooling and lubrication systemsAssist with cost of poor quality KPI improvementsDeliver training and technical support across manufacturing teamsHNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experienceProven experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position within a machining environmentStrong knowledge of CNC and manual machining processes, including milling and turningExperience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologiesCNC programming experience using Siemens, Mazak, and/or Heidenhain controlsExperience using SAP or other MRP systemsProficient with Microsoft Excel and WordApplicants must have valid Right to Work in the UK and be capable of obtaining Security Clearance for this role.

This role will involve a combination of office-based and shop floor activities within a manufacturing environment. Occasional travel may be required…
