Job Summary
22.5 hours per week. An exciting opportunity with the Integrated Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team in Barnsley.
Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team in an in‑patient setting, providing rehabilitation therapy to stroke patients during hospital stay and in community settings.
Salary: £25,272 a year pro rata. Working pattern: Part‑time, flexible. Band 2. Permanent contract.

Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to stroke patients in inpatient and community settings.
- Carry out rehabilitation programmes set by therapists and nursing team.
- Support personal care duties such as bathing, toileting, dressing and meal assistance.
- Assist clinicians with everyday tasks and routine administration or housekeeping.
- Maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, demonstrating empathy, politeness and confidentiality.
- Document care, raise concerns and respond to verbal or physical aggression.
- Participate in flexible rostering, providing 24‑hour/7‑day care provision when required.
Qualifications
- A satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years.
- Basic IT/keyboard skills.
- Good standard of English and maths (entry level 3 or GCSE). Care Certificate required or to be achieved within 12 weeks.
Experience
- Experience in a caring environment or voluntary position.
- Experience dealing with the public.

Training Requirements
- Willing and able to undertake all Trust mandatory training, including care certificate and refresher training.
- Willing and able to pursue level 2 health and social care qualification if eligible.
