General Operative

General Operative (Finishing) Location: Wellington Hours: 42.5 per week Pay: £12.71 per hour

Working Hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 17:00
• Friday: 08:00 – 15:00

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Operative to join our team in a finishing role. You will be responsible for ensuring products are completed to a high standard before dispatch. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform finishing tasks including sanding, trimming, polishing, cleaning and surface preparation
• Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools and finishing equipment
• Work to production schedules and meet daily targets
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow
• Complete quality checks and production documentation
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in manufacturing or finishing is advantageous, but not essential
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good hand–eye coordination and confidence using tools
• Ability to follow instructions and work to deadlines
• Reliable, punctual and a team player
• Own transport required due to location and working hours
