Overview
Pizza Chef at The Hoxton, Edinburgh. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you’ll be responsible for all things pizza, day-to-day production, quality checks and making sure every slice hits the spot. We’re looking for a dough-tossing, crust-loving candidate with a passion for fresh dough, bold toppings, and that perfect wood-fired oven, ready to keep the pizza rolling at The Hoxton, Edinburgh.
The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels with vibrant, welcoming public spaces. Our Edinburgh location features 11 Georgian townhouses, 214 bedrooms, and a range of dining and social spaces.
Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in leading a large, dynamic kitchen team.
- Create, execute, and produce top-notch food with a constant eye on the highest quality standards, presentation, and flavour.
- Nurture and develop the talent of the kitchen team, creating an environment that brings out the best in them and where they can be themselves.
- Ensure smooth operations: manage orders and deliveries, maintain food hygiene standards, and ensure service runs smoothly.
- Craft proper, authentic pizzas with a nod to Scottish roots, using locally sourced ingredients and seasonal twists.
- Ensure statutory compliance in all food and drink related areas.
- Drive standards and find efficient solutions while maintaining menu quality and integrity.
- Lead by example to create a guest- and team-centric environment, empowering and supporting your team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a Pizza Chef in a busy environment with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority.
- Solid experience in pizza production—from dough preparation to finishing pizzas in a gas oven, with quality at the forefront.
- Ability to take ownership of issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
- Proven track record managing large kitchen teams.
- A passion for creativity while maintaining brand standards and menu integrity.
- Natural leadership, with the ability to motivate and support the team to perform at their best.
