Job Summary

Watling Street Practice are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday – Friday. The closing date is 06 July 2026.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform medication reviews, advise patients on prescriptions, and optimise prescribing.
  • Conduct medication reviews, including new and structured medication reviews.
  • Medication reconciliation and outpatient scripts.
  • Liaise with GPs across all sites and work closely with the prescriptions team.
  • Support the duty GP with urgent prescription enquiries.
  • Support audits, QIP projects, CQC-related audit work, and safe prescribing audits.
  • Work with Prescription Clerks (based at Kiln Farm) and support them with queries and medicines management.
  • Conduct patient consultations as an independent prescriber (when qualification held).
  • Assist with medicines compliance and quality audits.
  • Liaise with community pharmacies regarding stock and supplies.
  • Support Prescription Clerks in initiating or amending medications from secondary care.
  • Provide clinical management/support for the prescription team and assist in developing prescribing processes and protocols.
  • Act as first point of contact for prescription-related queries.
  • Support local care homes with prescription queries.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience working within a GP practice environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Independent Prescriber qualification.
  • Interest or experience in respiratory care (highly desirable; upskilling available).
