About the role
- Support service users from entry into the service through their treatment/recovery journey.
- Provide screening, assessment, recovery planning and onward referral.
- Reduce drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
- Manage a caseload of hostel residents and support flexible, creative engagement.
- Deliver harm reduction interventions, motivational work, and person‑centred support.
- Support residents to re‑engage with treatment, healthcare, housing and other services.
- Promote safer injecting, overdose prevention, naloxone use and wellbeing approaches.
- Facilitate access to a range of co‑produced activities and wellbeing initiatives.
- Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery.
- Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users such as anger management, sleep disorders and relationships.
About you
- Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience working within a similar field.
- Experience managing groups/pods and navigating group dynamics, including conflict or challenging behaviour.
- In‑depth experience working effectively with homeless or vulnerable people, including those with substance misuse and mental health issues.
- Experience delivering brief, extended and structured interventions using evidence‑based techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy.
- Experience in case management/care coordination for vulnerable service users.
- Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage change successfully, prioritising the needs of service users.
- Understanding of information governance processes and commitment to applying necessary safeguards.
- Willingness to seek learning opportunities and contribute to the development of others.
