Shunter Driver required to work alongside our Supply Chain Team on shift proactively performing technical and operational duties to ensure customer orders are fulfilled while also ensuring the highest standard of food safety and quality.
Working Pattern – The hours of work for this role include 12 hour, dayshifts and nightshifts inclusive of some weekends.
Responsibilities:Safe operation of the shunter on-site.Perform safety inspections on vehicles, immediately reporting any defects and/or damage.Carry our trailer checklist and report to Supply Chain and Shift Leads.Maintain accurate pre/post shipment administration, including trailer loading sheets, purchase orders, PODs, quantity queries and quality issues.Liaise with Materials & Logistics Co-Ordinator to ensure optimal number of trailers held on site.Safe operation of Counterbalance forklift on site, assisting with the receipt of raw materials, ensuring the company’s Goods in procedure is adhered to and there is no visible damage or cross contamination evident.Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse area, ensuring stores are audit ready at all times, and maintaining a safe work environment and safe work practices.Management of pallets on site, ensuring BPL pallets are returned in an efficient manner.Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.Provide input into the development of policies and proceduresTo create a Continuous Improvement culture through participation and development of Supply Chain best practice.Support Holiday Cover in other Roles based on capabilities.Any other work activities within reason and competence
Essential Criteria:
Shunter Licence
Forklift LicenceExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailExcellent communication skills both verbal and written1 year experience driving a shunter or HGV lorriesComputer literate
