Overview

Croft Community School is a generic special school for pupils with moderate, severe, or profound and multiple learning difficulties or Autism Spectrum Conditions. We are appointing a Health Care & Education Assistant to join our dedicated SEN team from September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups within the classroom and across the school
• Assist with learning activities under the direction of teaching staff
• Promote pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour and pastoral care
• Support during breaktimes, lunchtimes and school activities
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals
• Follow school policies on safeguarding, behaviour and moving & handling

Qualifications

We are looking for a caring, resilient and flexible individual passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.

Enhanced DBS check required.

Benefits

• Salary: £24,796-£25,185 (Pro Rata)
• Standard term time only pay calculated on 38 teaching weeks plus public holidays and annual leave
• Annual leave: 27 days (less than 5 years service) or 32 days (more than 5 years service)
