Overview
St Giles is an inspiring, aspirational school for children and young people aged 3-18 with a broad range of difficulties, including autism and associated behaviours. Based in Retford, the school provides highly specialised and personalised education to pupils with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) across the Bassetlaw area. The school is growing and currently operates across two sites with 241 pupils in 30 classes (as of September 2025).
Our learners are taught that ‘no dreams are out of reach’ with the aim of developing each child’s full potential through partnership with teachers, other professionals and parents. The school has a long tradition of community involvement, supported by the Friends of St Giles and a coffee shop in town run by older students to help learners develop functional and independence skills.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
