Support Worker

Pay rate: £13.01 per hour; £27,060.80 based on 40 hours per week.

Full time – up to 40 hours per week.

Service: Nexus Support Limited – Chelmsford.

£300 Joining Bonus.

A full UK driver’s licence is required for this role.

About the role

Your day will be spent supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs aged 16‑45 to live meaningful lives. You will assist with activities such as swimming, exercising, health & beauty, and any preferred community or home-based activities. When you are not out and about, you will be on hand for chats and advice to help when times become challenging.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with people by listening, discussing, and planning goals and ambitions together.
• Help to plan and carry out daily tasks and practical activities such as cooking, cleaning, and running errands.
• Assist with personal care, including eating support and medication administration.
• Plan and participate in enjoyable days out.
• Support people to become more independent wherever possible.

• A team player, able to work effectively with colleagues.
• Resilience to keep going in difficult times and the confidence to ask for support when needed.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
