About the Role
We’re seeking a passionate and driven Women & Girls Football Development Officer to lead the implementation of our Women & Girls Strategy. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of female football at Avro FC, building programmes from the ground up and making a real difference in our local community.
As our Women & Girls Football Development Officer, you will be the driving force behind our female football offering. This is a strategic leadership role where you’ll shape the future of girls’ and women’s football at Avro FC, from grassroots participation through to competitive pathways. You’ll work to create an inclusive, welcoming environment where girls and women of all ages and abilities can enjoy football, develop their skills, and reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of our comprehensive Women & Girls 5-year Strategy
- Influence and support the growth and retention of female football, encompassing both team-based and recreational sessions
- Design and deliver innovative programmes to expand female football provision
- Focus on engaging girls at the earliest opportunity through mini-soccer initiatives
- Ensure female football at Avro is inclusive, diverse, and reflective of our local community
- Build and maintain relationships with the network of Girls’ Football School Partnerships in our area
- Deliver high-quality introductions to football for girls within primary schools
- Grow and retain female teams across all age groups
- Create a welcoming, female-friendly environment throughout the club
- Recruit, develop, and manage volunteers and coaches to deliver our Women & Girls programmes
- Build a strong team culture among staff and volunteers
- Create, maintain, and communicate an inclusive player pathway for females
- Develop clear routes through education, recreation, competition, and talent programmes
- Support player growth and retention at every stage of development

Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about developing women’s and girls’ football
- Experienced in programme development and delivery (football or sports development background desirable)
- Skilled in building partnerships and engaging with diverse communities
- Committed to inclusion and diversity
- Strategic in thinking but hands-on in approach
- Excellent at communication and relationship-building
