Job Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 4 School Readiness Community Nursery Nurse to work with the 0-5 Health Visiting Pathway and the Stop in Pregnancy team.
Responsibilities
- Work with the 0-5 Health Visiting team collaboratively and with other agencies and professionals to help improve the health and well‑being of the population.
- Facilitate groups according to identified need.
- Provide specific and routine stimulus and coordinated play activities in the home environment and group settings.
- Co‑deliver the Healthy Child Programme through sessions, groups or in the home environment.
- Participate in health education and promotion particularly in relation to child health and with families where it impacts on children such as smoking cessation and or healthy eating.
- Support Promise 17 school readiness within the Care Group.
Qualifications
- One of the following: NNEB, BTEC Childhood Studies, NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education.
- Parenting courses: Solihull Triple P, IAIM, Baby Massage, Sleep Fairy.
Experience
- Working within a community setting.
- Experience in working in the home and group setting, including lone working.
- Children’s Community Experience.
- Experience/interest in school readiness agenda.
- Evidence of project work.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge and awareness of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009).
- Good understanding of child development.
- Aware of the 0-19 service model.
- Aware of the Early Help Assessment processes.
- Ages and Stages Programme.
