Job Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 4 School Readiness Community Nursery Nurse to work with the 0-5 Health Visiting Pathway and the Stop in Pregnancy team.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the 0-5 Health Visiting team collaboratively and with other agencies and professionals to help improve the health and well‑being of the population.
  • Facilitate groups according to identified need.
  • Provide specific and routine stimulus and coordinated play activities in the home environment and group settings.
  • Co‑deliver the Healthy Child Programme through sessions, groups or in the home environment.
  • Participate in health education and promotion particularly in relation to child health and with families where it impacts on children such as smoking cessation and or healthy eating.
  • Support Promise 17 school readiness within the Care Group.

Qualifications

  • One of the following: NNEB, BTEC Childhood Studies, NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education.
  • Parenting courses: Solihull Triple P, IAIM, Baby Massage, Sleep Fairy.

Experience

  • Working within a community setting.
  • Experience in working in the home and group setting, including lone working.
  • Children’s Community Experience.
  • Experience/interest in school readiness agenda.
  • Evidence of project work.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge and awareness of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009).
  • Good understanding of child development.
  • Aware of the 0-19 service model.
  • Aware of the Early Help Assessment processes.
  • Ages and Stages Programme.
