About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Facilities Engineer to join our growing manufacturing operation in Tewkesbury. This is a key engineering role responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all site facilities, utilities, infrastructure, and building services within a high‑reliability manufacturing environment.

Working closely with Production, Engineering, HSE, and Quality teams, you will play a critical role in maintaining operational continuity, driving infrastructure improvements, managing contractors, and ensuring statutory compliance across the facility.

This position would suit a hands‑on facilities or building services engineer with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, excellent problem‑solving ability, and experience working within manufacturing or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance and operation of all site facilities and utility systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, extraction systems, effluent treatment, and process support equipment.
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure operational reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Coordinate reactive maintenance activities and conduct fault finding across electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems.
  • Manage contractors and specialist service providers including inductions, permits to work, RAMS reviews, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections, certifications, and compliance activities are completed and maintained.
  • Support infrastructure upgrades, CAPEX projects, equipment installations, and factory improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities relating to utilities efficiency, energy management, and environmental performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, and asset registers.
  • Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 compliance requirements and audits.
  • Promote a strong safety‑first culture and ensure engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Quality teams to support manufacturing requirements and business objectives.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Proven facilities engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical building services and utilities infrastructure.
  • Experience managing contractors, permits to work, and compliance systems.
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance schedules and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving capability.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally.
