Role
Barnsley Council is seeking a talented and ambitious Business Intelligence Analyst to join the BI service. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of data-led decision making in Barnsley. The role supports the BI service in moving towards a Microsoft Fabric platform and an AI-enabled environment, with a focus on insight-driven, predictive analytics and self-serve capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Providing support to colleagues working on strategic and operational performance management, identifying where performance insights can inform business decisions and drive improvement.
- Working with teams of data developers and analysts to support the delivery of BI solutions, delivering timely and robust data analysis and insight for customers.
- Assisting in the completion of statutory requirements and the provision of data sets from multiple sources.
- Supporting the production of high-quality, user-friendly reports and dashboards that display complex information, including predictive analyses to improve outcomes for local people and organisational effectiveness.
- Supporting data cleansing and improving data quality to strengthen accountability across the organisation.
- Enabling data access through the development of self-serve capabilities.
Requirements
- You are a proactive and analytical individual with a passion for using data to drive improvement.
- Substantial experience undertaking analysis and interpreting data to identify and produce key findings.
- Experience identifying, analysing and interpreting trends and patterns in data to inform future service delivery.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
- A Level 6 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.
