Electrical Project Engineer

Location: Midlands (80% local travel, with occasional nationwide travel)Salary: Open / Negotiable depending on experiencePackage: Company van, 25 days annual leave, career progression opportunities

Tradefield is currently recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer on behalf of a well-established client specialising in process industries, particularly within food manufacturing environments. With over 40 years of industry experience, this business offers a stable, supportive environment with strong technical backing and long-term career progression.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer looking to take ownership of projects and progress toward senior leadership, with a clear pathway to Project Director level.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical projects from initial enquiry through to completion
  • Prepare and submit quotations for a range of electrical works
  • Manage full turnkey electrical project delivery
  • Coordinate labour, materials, and subcontractors
  • Liaise with clients, site teams, and internal departments
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and handover processes
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and compliance

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Engineer or similar role
  • Strong background in estimating and project delivery
  • Experience within process industries such as food manufacturing (highly desirable)
  • Additional experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or automotive industries would be advantageous
  • Solid understanding of PLC controls (essential)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
