Key Role

As an EDI Specialist, you will be a crucial member of the IT team, responsible for handling both client-facing and backend responsibilities. This includes understanding clients' data interchange needs, designing and implementing custom data interchange systems, and managing data integration tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and functionality of our systems, providing end-user training, and promptly addressing data-related issues as they emerge.


Key Responsibilities


- Configure EDI connections using SFTP servers and XML-based transmissions

- Write, deploy and redevelop scripts using SSMS as they relate to EDI transactions

- Ability to convert file formats such as PDF to XML

- Authenticate API connections and write JSON scripts

- POST and GET data from preconfigured APIs

- Collaborate with Logistics teams and work closely with EDI partners

- Develop functional specifications and definitions of logistics processes that are tailored to meet the needs of the business

- Participate in any EDI related testing and resolve any issues related to the setup and processing of EDI transactions


Requirements:

- Knowledge of logistics processes, terminology, and practices

- High-level SQL ability and knowledge of relational databases

- Knowledge of EDI transmission protocols including SFTP, AS2, FTP, and VAN

- Familiarity with API platforms and their application

- Ability to work independently while also being able to work collaboratively with internal and external teams

- Organizational abilities with attention to detail

- Excellent communication skills


Preferred:

- Knowledge of EDI transaction sets for the logistics industry (i.e., 204, 214, 990, 997, etc.)

- Experience working with EDI communications software, such as Cleo and SPS Commerce

- Knowledge of EDI software, including SEEBURGER, GENTRAN, and Sterling Commerce
