Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Economist to provide expert analysis and insights on macroeconomic conditions across Asian markets. This role is pivotal in shaping investment decisions and strategy, working closely with a team of approximately 20 portfolio managers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of macroeconomic trends in Asian countries, focusing on key indicators such as interest rates, inflation, and GDP growth.
• Monitor and interpret policy developments from the ECB and the Federal Reserve, providing timely updates on how these could impact Asian markets.
• Prepare and present weekly reports and insights to portfolio managers, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with the investment team to develop strategic views on macroeconomic developments and their implications for various asset classes.
• Stay ahead of emerging macroeconomic trends and provide proactive advice to the investment team.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in macroeconomic analysis, with a focus on Asian economies.
• Strong knowledge of global monetary policy, including the actions of the ECB and the Federal Reserve.
• Proven ability to influence investment decisions through data-driven insights.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distil complex economic concepts into actionable advice.
• Experience working in a high-paced environment, preferably within a hedge fund or leading sell-side bank.
