OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING MANAGER

At ScotRail, health, safety and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. As the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Manager, reporting to the Head of Wellbeing, Equity and Engagement you’ll be responsible for providing guidance, advice and support on all aspects of occupational health compliance, and our statutory responsibilities. This role is centred around growth, purpose and challenge, sparking inspiration in others, giving you the opportunity to bring your creative mind to life.
In addition, this exciting role will:
* Provide pro-active occupational health support to leaders, managers and colleagues to deliver robust health surveillance programmes and relevant health support services
* Lead in the development of a positive wellbeing culture, through engagement with teams across the ScotRail network
* Work closely with external stakeholders, ensuring service level agreements are met, building and developing relationships with suppliers to drive continued performance
The person
You will have experience of managing the provision of an Occupational Health Service, ensuring best practice of driving proactive interventions to support wellness.
You will have a robust understanding of complying with all relevant health and safety legislation, whilst maximising and promoting the health and wellbeing of employees.
Experience of developing and delivering Health Surveillance programmes and safety critical medical assessments, is essential.
Knowledge/Skills
* Comprehensive experience in an OH setting, including working at senior level.
* OH Diploma or BSc in Community Nursing (OH) with specialist practitioner status (Specialist Community Public Health Nurse)
* Relevant clinical occupational health proficiency required to assess health needs of the business unit appropriately.
* Strong interpersonal skills including motivational, relationship building and influencing skills are essential.
Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Reference Salary: £62K – £65K per annum.

Selection process: Assessment and Interview may form the initial stages of the selection process. The final stage for successful candidates will be a medical questionnaire. Appointees must submit at least two satisfactory references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and complete a six-month probation period.
