The Role:
The Senior Partner Account Manager at Trust Payments serves as a key commercial role responsible for developing, nurturing, and expanding relationships with important partners across our ecosystem. This position functions as the essential connection between Trust Payments and our partner network, driving mutual growth and commercial success through effective relationship management and strategic business planning. The role requires strong commercial understanding, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills to identify and capitalise on revenue opportunities whilst ensuring partners receive maximum value from our collaboration.
The Senior Partner Account Manager will be responsible for the entire partner lifecycle—from onboarding and development to optimisation and growth—requiring a proactive approach to account management that anticipates market shifts and evolving partner needs. This individual will develop comprehensive, data-driven account plans that align with both Trust Payments’ commercial objectives and our partners’ business goals, ensuring sustainable, long-term partnerships that drive significant revenue contributions. The role requires balancing short-term commercial targets with long-term strategic relationship development, involving both tactical execution and strategic planning.
As a trusted advisor to our partners and an internal advocate for their needs, the Senior Partner Account Manager should demonstrate solid understanding of the payments industry, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to position Trust Payments as the partner of choice in an evolving fintech ecosystem. Success in this role will be measured by revenue generation, partner satisfaction, relationship longevity, and the strategic value delivered to both Trust Payments and our partner network.
What We Expect of You, Day To Day:
Commercial Management
- Manage a portfolio of strategic partners, serving as their primary point of contact within Trust Payments
- Develop and execute account plans to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives
- Identify and pursue cross-selling and upselling opportunities within the partner ecosystem
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators including revenue, partner satisfaction, and market penetration
- Negotiate commercial terms and contracts to ensure mutual benefit and profitability
- Forecast and track partner revenue contributions
- Analyse partner performance data to identify trends and opportunities for growth
Strategic Account Planning
- Create comprehensive account plans with clear objectives, strategies, and timelines
- Conduct regular strategic reviews with partners to align on business goals and identify new opportunities
- Map partner ecosystems to identify key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers
- Anticipate market trends and evolving partner needs to position Trust Payments’ solutions effectively
- Develop long-term strategic roadmaps for each partner relationship
- Identify and address potential risks to partner relationships and revenue streams
- Collaborate with product teams to align development roadmaps with partner requirements
- Benchmark partner performance against industry standards
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with partners at multiple levels
- Serve as the voice of the partner within Trust Payments, advocating for their needs
- Facilitate effective communication between partners and internal teams
- Resolve partner issues promptly and effectively
- Conduct regular business reviews with partners to ensure alignment and satisfaction
- Organise and lead partner meetings, workshops, and strategic planning sessions
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes
- Provide insights on market conditions and partner feedback to inform product development
- Monitor competitor activities within partner accounts and develop strategies to maintain competitive advantage
- Share relevant market intelligence with partners to support their success
- Represent Trust Payments at industry events and partner conferences
- Work closely with sales, marketing, product, and technical teams to deliver comprehensive partner solutions
- Coordinate internal resources to support partner initiatives and resolve issues
- Share insights and learnings with the wider account management team
- Contribute to the development of partner programme strategies and frameworks
Qualifications:
- Experience in partner/account management within fintech, payments, or related industries
- Track record of meeting or achieving commercial targets
- Understanding of payment technologies, solutions, and industry trends
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinking and planning abilities
- Commercial understanding and financial literacy
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to influence at all levels of an organisation
- Experience with strategic account planning methodologies
- Knowledge of the payments ecosystem in the UK, Europe, and/or global markets
- Understanding of merchant acquiring, payment processing, and related services
- Experience with CRM systems and account planning tools
