Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Electro-Mechanical
Location: Buckinghamshire
Platform Recruitment is partnering with a leading company specialising in the design, manufacture, and distribution of scientific electro-mechanical instruments. As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in product development, precision mechanism design, and 3D CAD.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead product development from concept to launch, working on cutting-edge electro-mechanical technologies in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply blue sky thinking to drive innovation
- Utilise 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for precision design
- Prototype and test designs for performance validation
- Design precision mechanisms for electro-mechanical systems
- Oversee product development from concept to manufacturing
- Mentor and support junior engineers
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Product Design, or related field) or equivalent experience
- Strong expertise in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
- Creativity and a passion for innovation & blue sky thinking
- Proven experience in precision mechanism design
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including injection moulding
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing
- Experience in electro-mechanical product design (highly desirable)
