Quantity Surveyor

Overview

Morgan Hunt are currently supporting a Public Sector client in their search for Maintenance Quantity Surveyor for an immediate start. Contract position – 6 month – Edinburgh.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity surveying responsibilities with a particular focus on contractor works.
• Carry out additional due diligence checks on contractor quotations and cost proposals.
• Review and identify opportunities for savings through analysis of scopes, rates, and methodologies.
• Assess scoping issues to ensure works are accurately defined and align with project requirements.
• Conduct value for money checks on contractor quotes to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
• Provide assurance on costs and support the delivery of projects within agreed budgets.
• Liaise with contractors and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Support risk management by highlighting potential cost, scope, or compliance concerns.
