The Role
The Information Security Team is part of Group Technology and is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of the information & technology security governance, strategy, policies, systems and processes across the British Land group.
The Information Security Apprentice will be primarily working on Cyber Security tasks which help protect British Land by assisting with the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of Cyber tools to prevent, detect and manage cyber threats. The apprentice will work as part of the Information Security team and, whilst focusing on Cyber, will also work on other Governance-based tasks that the team perform to gain exposure to a wide variety of responsibilities of the team. The role will also work closely with other Group Technology teams, such as Infrastructure, Service Desk and Systems Development.
The apprentice will study towards the Level 4 Cyber Security Defend & Respond programme.

Apprenticeship level: higher (level 4)
Programme: L4 cyber security technologist
During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with the apprentice and training partnership, delivered through combined classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning.

What You’ll Do
- Assisting with the support and implementation of technologies in the following categories
- Create cyber security metrics for reporting packs
- Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual activity, using a range of cyber tools
- Assist with planning for Penetration Tests and tracking results and resolution of vulnerabilities
- Investigate security alerts and provide incident response
- Manage privileged access reporting
- Assist in tabletop incident response exercises
- Monitor identity and access management
- Liaise with stakeholders in relation to cyber security issues
- Generate reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders
- Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training
- Give advice and guidance to staff on issues such as spam and unwanted or malicious emails
About You
- Strong written and oral communication skills and a team player
- You will have a strong interest in Information Security and IT in general and will be able to demonstrate that you have undertaken projects at home in or in an educational setting that exemplify this.
- Self-motivated problem solver
- Good time management
Eligibility
- GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A*–C) or equivalent in English and Maths
- Good knowledge of IT systems, network infrastructure, and hardware/software systems
- An active interest in Cyber Security is encouraged
- Existing right to work in the UK
