Overview
Architect (Education) — Contract role, Hybrid. Oxford Circus, London. An international architecture and design practice is seeking an experienced Architect to join its London studio on a one-year contract, with the potential to extend to a permanent position. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful education projects, collaborating closely with schools, trusts, and contractors. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of Department for Education specifications and demonstrate a passion for delivering thoughtful, sustainable design solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead client engagement sessions with schools and trusts
- Collaborate with contractors on education projects
- Prepare and modify complex implementation documents and drawings
- Apply creative thinking to develop innovative design solutions
- Lead planning and technical problem-solving within the team
- Review and coordinate implementation documents
- Manage project schedules and ensure timely delivery
- Ensure compliance with building codes and zoning requirements
- Prepare and present design concepts to clients
- Support business development through client relationships and proposal contributions
- Participate in site visits, field reviews, and project meetings
- Provide mentorship and feedback to team members
Qualifications and Experience
- Accredited Master’s degree in Architecture (RIBA Part III or equivalent)
- ARB registration required
- Minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience
- Familiarity with Department for Education specifications essential
- Proficiency in Revit required; Enscape desirable
- Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Rhino, Grasshopper preferred
- Strong graphic skills using Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, InDesign
- Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design principles
- Strong understanding of architectural building systems and QA/QC processes
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Experience with BIM360/ACC desirable
