A fantastic opportunity is available for an exceptional General Manager to join STK Steakhouse & Rooftop Bar in Stratford, East London. The General Manager is accountable for the guest experience, finance, sales growth, legal compliance, and team development for both FOH and BOH, and will work closely with The Gantry hotel and The One Group to run a smooth operation in terms of finance, product, and people. The GM will take charge of controllable items in the P&L as delegated and deliver the budget.

Responsibilities

  • Operations Management
  • Manage, lead and deliver an exceptional guest experience
  • Maintain service quality through proper execution of the sequence of service
  • Maintain the overall vision – business and marketing objectives
  • Develop risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with The Gantry Hotel partners
  • Maintain all corporate mandates
  • Update and track daily reports
  • Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants
  • Coach, train and develop management and hourly staff
  • Monitor team performance – morale and productivity
  • Regularly review performance within Performance Management guidelines
  • Forecasting and budget planning
  • Monitor expenses and report monthly financial results
  • Set and monitor sales forecasts and profitability reports
  • Keep Director of Operations informed of sales and key issues
  • Increase sales through marketing and incentives to raise average check
  • Maintain budgeted revenues, COS, labor and supplies; review P&L and address variances

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years professional hospitality experience; high-volume experience
  • Food and Safety training
  • Excellent management, delegation, and presentation skills
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, problem solving
  • General business acumen
  • Expert knowledge of restaurant computer systems (e.g., MICROS and OpenTable)
