Overview
Software Engineer – London. Our client, a globally recognised Fintech leader known for its innovation and engineering excellence, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their London-based technology team.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a critical engineering group – building tools and systems that empower teams responsible for keeping production environments fast, reliable, and observable at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable Python-based tools and automation systems used across the firm’s infrastructure.
- Build and enhance platforms that streamline monitoring, alerting, logging, and system diagnostics.
- Solve complex distributed systems challenges and improve platform performance and observability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide internal tooling that ensures high availability and resilience of services.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Python, with a strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals.
- Solid experience working on internal platforms or developer tools, ideally those supporting infrastructure or operations teams.
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with modern observability and logging tools such as ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Grafana, Prometheus, and ideally Apache Spark.
- A Computer Science degree from a top-tier university (or equivalent academic background).
