Anson McCade is working with a high-profile, global client at the forefront of digital transformation. Our client brings together digital, cyber, and intelligence expertise to help governments, armed forces, and major enterprises gain a digital edge in the most complex and high-stakes environments.
We’re looking for a skilled AWS Solution Architect to join our client’s growing cloud architecture team. This is a crucial role where you’ll lead the design and enablement of AWS cloud solutions that drive major platform migrations and support the future direction of national-scale infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and architecture of AWS solutions across large, multi-account cloud estates.
- Define, develop, and publish reusable migration patterns and architectural artefacts using Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Partner with development teams to drive standardisation, automation, and cloud-native adoption.
- Conduct architecture reviews and continuously improve platform architecture based on AWS advancements.
- Support engineering teams with issue resolution, troubleshooting, and migration optimisation.
- Act as a subject matter expert on AWS security, networking, and service adoption.
- Be eligible for UK Security Clearance
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading AWS cloud migrations and shaping cloud architecture strategies.
- Deep expertise in AWS reference architectures, patterns, and platform design.
- Strong DevOps knowledge and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
- Excellent communication skills, with a confident ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A strong grasp of AWS security models, policies, and network configurations.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments.
Nice to have
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate/Professional or AWS speciality certs).
- Scaled Agile qualifications (SAFe, Scrum@Scale, or similar).
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading architectural practice communities.
- A background working within national security, government, or regulated enterprise environments.
