AC Design Engineer – Powering the Future of Heavy Machinery

Schedule: Full‑time (Hybrid – 3 days office, 2 days WFH)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an AC Design Engineer to join an established engineering team at a leading innovator in electronic control systems for heavy machinery.

With over 30 years of expertise in designing advanced control and power systems, this company has built a global reputation for quality, performance, and innovation.

The Role

In this hybrid position, you’ll take ownership of AC powertrain system design and optimisation as well as AC electrical panel development – playing a critical role in shaping next‑generation machinery technology.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, model, and test AC machines and powertrain systems.
  • Lead the design and specification of AC electrical panels, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with IEC/NEC standards.
  • Conduct simulations and analysis to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Support product development from concept through to production and field deployment.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in AC powertrain design, power electronics, or EV systems.
  • Strong understanding of AC machine design, control, and integration.
  • Skilled in CAD design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical schematic development.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, with a collaborative mindset.
