Pre-Construction Planning Manager

Are you an experienced project manager with a commercial or retail construction background?

Do you have a proven track record managing multiple projects of various size, from start to finish?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a leading retailer to search for a Pre-Construction Planning Manager. This is a permanent role based in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects – create a brief, develop a pre‑construction plan to coordinate the activities of the consultant team and contractor you appoint.
  • Set project objectives, regularly review progress to ensure they meet performance requirements and milestones to achieve the target for start on site.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to minimise costs, ensuring the optimum design of both internal and external factors.
  • Ensure the highest standard – adhering to business procurement policies and procedures, appointing a wide range of contractors and consultants fairly to maximise value for money, and ensuring all processes adhere to internal and external audit and legislation.
  • Provide effective leadership and indirect line management to ensure that members of the team are appropriately supported, trained and motivated to carry out their responsibilities to the highest standards.
  • Select, appoint and coordinate the performance of a range of external professional consultants and contractors to ensure delivery of the business plan.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience of project managing new build housing through site acquisition and planning.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects meeting cost, time and budget targets.
  • Proven ability to simultaneously coordinate and manage the performance of several multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Knowledge of construction and commercial/residential building issues.
  • Experience of developing and managing budgets and forecasting expenditure.
  • Experience of commissioning work and setting standards for suppliers.
  • Full Driving License / Access to a car for business use.
  • Degree in construction or project management – desirable.
