About

With a track record of value creation through active asset management, strategic land promotion, and development, the group has established a reputation for long‑term growth and disciplined financial management.

The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for all financial matters across their assigned portfolio, effectively acting as Finance Director for those entities. This includes managing financial control, compliance, reporting, and cash management, as well as partnering with senior stakeholders to support strategic and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial stewardship, overseeing all financial matters across the portfolio, ensuring robust financial control, reporting accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Compliance management, maintaining and executing a comprehensive annual compliance timetable, covering management accounts, statutory accounts, tax filings, VAT, CIS, and covenant reporting.
  • Outsourced provider management, leading relationships with external service providers, auditors, tax advisors, and accountants, agreeing scope and deliverables, managing performance, and ensuring value for money.
  • Reporting, reviewing management and financial reports, providing variance analysis and commentary against plan, and ensuring timely, accurate submissions to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Audit & statutory reporting, planning and managing audits to completion, coordinating internal teams and external advisers, ensuring all statutory filings are on time and to a high standard.
  • Tax & structuring, overseeing tax compliance, reviewing returns, and providing support on structuring matters for acquisitions, disposals, and legislative changes.
  • Cash & debt management, monitoring cash flows and funding requirements across entities, managing debt covenant reporting, and maintaining strong relationships with lenders.
  • Investor reporting, preparing high‑quality quarterly investor reports, supporting investment committee packs, and responding to investor queries promptly.
  • Deal support, working closely with the property and investment teams to support financial analysis, debt negotiations, and transaction execution.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with a strong technical grounding along with sound commercial awareness. You will likely have trained at a top‑tier accounting firm, followed by experience in real estate, private equity, or investment management, ideally within a business managing complex multi‑entity structures.

Key attributes include:

  • Strong technical accounting and financial control skills.
  • Proven experience managing outsourced service providers.
  • Excellent project management and organisational abilities, with a zero‑tolerance approach to missed deadlines.
  • A commercial mindset with the confidence to challenge and partner with non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Clear communication skills, sound judgement, and a proactive, delivery‑focused approach.
