JOB- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- West London
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £45,000 – £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client specialises in fabrication for a range of industries, and they are looking to take on a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the West London area.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar Mechanical Design position
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
- Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
- Any previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirable
- Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
- Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Being involved in final assembly of products
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
