Embedded Software Engineer – Role Summary

A well‑established R&D organisation, a market leader, is looking to rapidly expand its engineering team near Leicestershire. As an Embedded Software Engineer will bring a background in Digital Signal Processing and a working knowledge of communications systems engineering, blending embedded/bare‑metal experience with implementation of communication signal processing algorithms such as DDCs, filters, FFTs.

Key Qualifications

• BEng/BSc or MSc/MEng within Engineering (Ideally Electronics, Telecommunication or similar)
• Experience in DSP Algorithm simulation and 5G development
• Experience in Bare Metal/ Embedded C
• Experience with programming through Linux

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Yocto‑based Board Support Packages
• Experience with typical embedded control peripherals (i.e. RAM, Flash, UART, PWM, A/D, CAN, I2C and SPI)
• Cortex M3/M4 Microcontrollers or similar
• Efficient implementation of communications DSP algorithms (such as FFT, filtering, DDC) in VHDL
