The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the fire safety design of buildings.
- Collaborate with Hoare Lea colleagues as part of a multi‑disciplinary team and maintain relationships with long‑term external clients.
- Apply detailed knowledge of UK regulations and design guidance.
- Integrate other construction professionals’ requirements into the project.
- Ensure open communication among all project team members and provide timely feedback.
- Attend design team meetings, workshops, client meetings and site meetings.
- Travel to clients or projects in the UK, and occasionally internationally, according to project demands.
- Use software analysis tools – evacuation, smoke and fire modelling, heat radiation models and structural fire modelling.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience within a fire engineering consultancy role.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Maths, Architecture, or Physics with a keen interest in Fire Engineering.
- IT proficiency and working knowledge of fire modelling software analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive team player.
- Capacity to deliver to demanding timescales, with strong organisational and planning skills.
