Seven Resourcing is looking for two Human Resources Business Partners to join a local authority’s People & Organisational Culture team. These senior-level roles offer the opportunity to shape people strategy, influence organisational change, and support leaders across a large, diverse workforce.

Position details

Job title: Human Resources Business Partner

Location: Southampton (hybrid – 1 day per week on-site)

Positions available: 1 full-time role and 1 part-time role (18.5 hours per week)

Pay: £24.46 per hour (PAYE) / £31.14 per hour (Umbrella)

What you’ll do

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver people strategies that support service and organisational objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance, conduct, and engagement.
  • Lead and support organisational change programmes and workforce redesign activity.
  • Use HR data and analytics to identify trends and inform decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal HR policies.
  • Coach and mentor managers to improve leadership capability and people management.
  • Build strong working relationships with leaders, employees, trade unions, and partners.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, reporting, and case management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, risk management, and organisational development.

Qualifications

  • Level 6 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • CIPD Chartered status or significant HR partnering experience.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practice, and public sector policies.
  • Experience managing complex ER cases in a unionised environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and support change initiatives.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders and building credible relationships.
