The Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) is a new shared corporate service, launched in July 2023. It provides corporate services (HR, Finance, Digital, Commercial, Security and Estates) across the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT).
Our team of just over 300 professionals will be leading the way in how these functions will be delivered in the future. Our ambition is to be the leading provider of integrated corporate services for government and set the standard for quality, efficiency, and innovation in our field.

Person specification
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will explore ideas for change, suggesting solutions and guiding them through to completion.
Key responsibilities for the role:
- Investigate reported issues, determine their root causes and impact, and advocate for valuable change.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, users, and agile teams to prioritise and deliver user-centric transformations, considering policy constraints.
- Utilise your technical expertise to define requirements, create models for shared understanding, and make evidence-based decisions for impactful solutions.
- Mentor junior team members, empowering them with skills and knowledge for success, and foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing your expertise within our collaborative community.
The above responsibilities are not exhaustive, and the post holders may be required to undertake some additional tasks not listed above, within the remit of their grade, to support the team.
As a line manager, you will be responsible for working with your members of staff to define their objectives, as well as managing their development and performance.
We would love to hear from you if you have experience in:
- Investigating, analysing, and solving problems, and making evidence-based decisions in a Business Analyst context.
- Identifying stakeholders and determining the level of engagement required for successful collaboration.
- Capturing evidence-based user needs and translating them into functional and non-functional requirements.
- Modelling business and data views (existing, conceptual, and proposed) to support common understanding.
- Leading and mentoring other Business Analysts to ensure delivery of high-quality services.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, or alternative approaches to business activities.
The below experience would be beneficial but not essential as we will provide necessary training.
- Delivering change in a collaborative team using agile principles
- Managing requirements to promote re-use and adaptability
