Public Sector Audit Executive – Birmingham
Our client, a Top 10 Firm of Chartered Accountants in Central Birmingham, is looking for a Public Sector Audit Executive or Assistant Manager. The role provides genuine progression to Manager level within a short time frame if achievable targets are met.
As a Public Sector Audit Executive or Assistant Manager with this national firm, you will assist the Audit Manager & Partner in supervising an Audit team, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of technical audit and other assurance services for Public Sector clients.
Ideally you will have worked on the external audit of public sector entities in the UK. You should be commercially focused with good relationship management skills, and any business development experience would be a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Managing key client portfolio and building and maintaining good working relationships with all colleagues and clients.
- Assisting the audit partner in establishing audit objectives and overall scope.
- Ensuring key matters which arise during the audit that were not identified at the planning stage are properly assessed and dealt with.
- Leading audits of varying sizes across a range of public sector bodies including health sector, NHS, local government and social housing.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA or CIPFA Qualified.
- Experience of leading audits of varying sizes across public sector bodies.
- Commercially focused with good relationship management skills.
Location: Birmingham, Central Birmingham office, commutable from West Midlands, Staffordshire and Worcestershire.
