Job Description:

Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a confidential search to appoint a Head of Financial Planning and Performance for a private equity backed, international, multi-entity services group.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will lead all financial planning, forecasting, and performance management activity across the business, acting as a strategic partner to the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership team. The position has a strong commercial and value creation mandate, with a clear emphasis on driving performance rather than pure process ownership. This is a pivotal hire within a fast paced, acquisitive environment undergoing significant change, investment, and preparation for a future exit. The successful individual will play a central role in shaping financial insight, strengthening forecasting credibility, and embedding a true performance culture across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial planning, forecasting, and performance management activity, acting as a trusted advisor to the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership team.
  • Own and continuously improve budgets, forecasts, and long range plans, ensuring clear linkage between operational drivers, financial outcomes, and value creation.
  • Build and embed a robust performance framework, translating strategy into measurable metrics that are clearly understood and owned across the business.
  • Deliver high quality Board and investor reporting, including insightful analysis of performance versus plan, risks, opportunities, and key value drivers.
  • Partner closely with operational leaders to influence decision making, challenge assumptions, and drive behavioural change that improves financial outcomes.
  • Support the CFO on strategic initiatives including M&A, integration, and preparation for exit within a private equity context.
  • Lead the implementation and embedding of a new financial planning and forecasting tool, moving the organisation away from spreadsheet based processes.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high performing financial planning and performance team, capable of operating at pace in a complex, international environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven senior level experience in financial planning, performance, or FP&A within a fast paced, complex organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of operational drivers, value creation, and performance management, ideally within a private equity or value driven environment.
  • A track record of improving forecast accuracy and credibility, with the ability to link financial outcomes directly to business actions.
  • Experience partnering closely with senior leaders and Boards, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence change.
  • Exposure to system implementation or transformation within planning and forecasting, ideally moving away from Excel led processes.
  • A leadership style that is proactive, decisive, and change oriented, with the presence to operate as a credible deputy to the CFO and potential successor over time.
