Contracts Manager – Refurbishment Projects

We are a small, well-established construction company based in Burton upon Trent, specialising in a wide range of commercial refurbishment projects. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team.
This is a key role within the business, ideal for a proactive and commercially aware individual who is comfortable managing multiple projects and working closely with site teams, clients, and directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple refurbishment projects from pre-start through to completion.
- Overseeing Site Managers and supporting site teams.
- Programming works and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintaining strong client relationships and attending progress meetings.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and company procedures.
- Managing subcontractor performance and procurement.
- Monitoring costs, variations, and project profitability.
- Supporting tender reviews and pre-construction planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within refurbishment or fit-out works.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, H&S, and contract management.
- Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a small business environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Background in commercial refurbishments.
- SMSTS and relevant H&S qualifications.
