This is a hands‑on, independent role, suited to a self‑starter comfortable operating with minimal supervision and engaging confidently with stakeholders across the business.

The Role

As Compliance Consultant, you will take ownership of reviewing and enhancing:

  • Compliance policies and procedures
  • SOPs, job aids, and process documentation
  • Operational controls and quality assurance processes

You will play a key role in embedding compliance standards across the team while supporting management in maintaining regulatory alignment within a regulated payments environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing compliance policies, SOPs, and procedures; identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Design, implement, and test operational controls to ensure regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Monitor adherence to company policies, compliance rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal checks, dummy audits, quality reviews, and case sampling.
  • Maintain and update SOPs and job aids in collaboration with managers and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee training compliance: track completion, follow up with managers, and ensure mandatory training remains up to date.
  • Support complaints‑handling processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Work closely with compliance, risk, legal, and operational teams to ensure consistency across the organisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement through regular review and enhancement of controls and processes.
  • Act as a visible compliance advocate, reinforcing a culture of accountability and best practice.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in compliance, audit, quality assurance, or process control within a regulated financial services environment (payments strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, complaints handling, and regulatory expectations.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, reviewing, and maintaining SOPs, controls, and internal documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with senior stakeholders and operational teams.
  • Comfortable working independently in a consultancy‑style role.

Desirable

  • Experience using Salesforce for case management, reporting, or compliance tracking.
  • Background in compliance operations, internal audit, or quality assurance within financial services.
  • Prior exposure to payments, fintech, or regulated operational environments.

  • Contract: 12 months (with strong likelihood of extension)
  • IR35: Inside IR35
  • Location: Hybrid – London office attendance as required
