Electrical Design Engineer

My client is seeking a hands‑on Electrical Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team, delivering control panel layouts, schematics, and technical support for installations and projects. This office‑based role may require occasional travel to client or supplier sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Create electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics using CAD software.
• Specify and source components to meet project requirements.
• Select PLCs/HMIs in collaboration with software engineers.
• Support service teams with technical queries and parts sourcing.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (BS7671, IEC 60204, ISO 13849, UL508A, NFPA79, AS3000).
• Work with low and extra‑low voltage AC/DC systems (110V‑600V, 24V).
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate control systems.

Skills & Experience

• Practical electrical wiring experience; mechanical experience advantageous.
• Experience with electrical CAD (Eplan Pro Panel desirable).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• HNC/HND or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• Experience with international control panel standards.
• Knowledge of PLC hardware/software (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Siemens).
• Familiarity with industrial networking systems (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS232/485).
